Bob Dylan's MASTERS of WAR (1963) ~ A Song For Our Times
This song By Bob Dylan made me cry as I realised that the compassion is draining out of our de-sensitised glutinous youth, to preoccupied and buried in their exorbitant mortgages, chasing for the dollar, video games, getting worked up only for pointless sports, sex and non reality. Masters of War, Is speaking against what Eisenhower was calling a military industrial complex as he was making his exit from the presidency. "In the counsels of Government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the Military Industrial Complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists, and will persist. We must never let the weight of this combination endanger our liberties or democratic processes." -- President Dwight Eisenhower |
